QCA's Gala 2017

After 50 years of championing the arts in Queens, Queens Council on the Arts will celebrate the borough’s artistry again at an unconventional gala inspired by the Venetian carnival tradition. In addition to the presence of renowned honorees, sculptor Joel Shapiro and photographer Tony Vaccaro, guests will experience lively entertainment including casino games, music, dancers and sketch artists. Proceeds will benefit QCA’s Emerging Artist Fund, to support artists and cultural leaders in Queens. Get your tickets now!

Transportation

Knockdown Center is accessible by several convenient bus lines: Q59, Q54, B57, B38.  

We will also have a shuttle departing from the 7 train's Vernon Avenue stop (at 50th Avenue, near Jackson's Eatery) at approximately 6:30pm and 7pm. For shuttle assistance on February 16, call 347-271-2166.

Tony Vaccaro  is an American photographer who is best known for his photos taken in Europe during 1944 and 1945 and in Germany immediately after World War II. After the war, he became a renowned fashion and lifestyle photographer for U.S. magazines.
