PAID WORK OPPORTUNITIES

Every year, QCA hires three HS2AS alumni to sketch 60-second portraits of guests during our gala at the Knockdown Center. Previously, alumni have used this as an opportunity to network with the 200 artists, funders, and cultural leaders that attend the event.

call for sketch artists

We are looking for three artists to sketch 60-second portraits at LIC Springs on Saturday, May 11! The event will be from 12-5pm. Each artist will be compensated $100 for two hours of work during that time frame. Email kolshan@queenscouncilarts.org if you’re interested.

ANNUAL Queens emerging artist business prize

In 2017, we launched the annual Queens Emerging Artist Business Prize in partnership with KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency). Since then, with the help of an annual corporate sponsor, we’ve given away $13,000 in unrestricted funds to HS2AS alumni for their graphic design entries.

Queens Emerging Artist Business Prize applications are currently closed. Check back in the Summer of 2019 for more details on the Third Annual prize opportunity.
