“You have an idea. You see the finish line. But how do you get there? The QAF is really a catalyst to get your project over the finish line, to make your art happen. That benefits us as artists but it really benefits the whole Queens and beyond.”

Dan has created a feature film about Jamaica Bay.

But what it really is about has more to do with the people who live around the bay. Their stories, their community, their unexpected and beautiful Hindu rituals that take place at Jamaica Bay.

Dan says his film is about encouraging people to talk to each other, it is about creating a sense of place for the people that call this bay their home. How a place can define us and how we define a place.

This is something the Queens Council on the Arts believes in passionately. Dan’s film, “ The Divine Waters of Jamaica Bay” was awarded a Queens Art Fund Grant.

$2,500 supported Dan and his film. Give that on your own, or give $250 with 10 people to immerse yourself in a world of people who love the water around them.

Every dollar we raise can transform your daily life into a creative experience, one artist, one project at a time.
